The independent members of COMARE are supported in their work by a Secretariat which, since 1996, has been provided by the Health Protection Agency - Centre for Radiation, Chemical and Environmental Hazards (HPA-CRCE), formerly NRPB. The Secretariat have expertise which enables them to provide members with comprehensive background information and briefing papers that inform the decision making processes of the Committee.
